About Us

We started life in 2019 when we bought Gus, George and Hugo. We have great plans to grow and we will share our excitement and disappointments (hopefully not too many!) on our blog as we continue on our journey.
We have just over 6 acres here in Lower Bockhampton and we rent additional space nearby, so we have plenty of space to grow our herd. The 6 acres was converted from the productive arable land that it was into the grazing we need. We carefully selected grasses to give the alpacas variety they like with Fescues and Timothy mixes and ensured there is a good supply of clover which offer the lactating females the nutrients they need as well as having the added benefit of increasing soil fertility.
Shearing normally happens around May time and we like to take before and after pictures the new hairdo’s. We post some of our favourite ones on our blog.
We use local, internationally renowned  stud facilities to enable us to breed high quality cria. We look for good conformation, excellent fleece and rather selfishly nice personalities!
We’re based in the heart of Thomas Hardy country, just a 5 minute walk to the North of us takes to his birthplace and a 5 minute walk to the West takes you to the beautiful parish of Stinsford where his heart is buried.
There are many excellent places to stay near us but first and foremost are our wonderful neighbours, at Yalbury Cottage.
